ECHO ASIA’S AI POLCY
To ensure our storytelling remains innovative, human-centered, and authentic,
ECHO ASIA permits AI usage for research, editing, coding, and generating transcripts, useful for referencing factual background or raw data, but strictly prohibits its use in defining our brand voice and tone. Every staff member is required to verify all AI-assisted research against credible primary sources prior to publication, ensuring that every final deliverable is created, authored, and refined by a human writer.
To preserve truth and authenticity across our social media platforms,
ECHO ASIA does not use AI to create or alter real-world media, including filmed videos, photos, and audio. AI is restricted to pre- and post-production support, such as visualizing storyboards or generating video transcripts. However, AI-generated illustrations or digital artwork may be published strictly when the AI media itself is the subject of the story or functions as a conceptual, standalone illustration (such as depicting hypothetical or imaginary scenes that cannot be captured in real life). In all such instances, the content must be clearly labelled as AI-generated in the accompanying caption.
To protect our partners and clients,
Team members should avoid inputting confidential client information, sensitive data, or non-public campaign materials into public AI prompts or tools.
Good usage examples:
- Using AI tools to proofread draft copy or suggest clearer phrasing.
- Summarizing complex industry reports and outlining raw data.
- Generating automated video captions, transcripts, or translations for internal review.
- Using AI for early pre-production work, such as generating story ideas, internal mood boards, or storyboards to visualize campaign ideas before filming.
- Utilizing AI-generated illustrations to depict conceptual or imaginary scenarios that cannot be captured in real life, provided they are prominently labeled in the caption.
Misleading or unacceptable usage examples:
- Prompting AI to write a full story and publishing it without substantive human writing and oversight.
- Publishing AI-generated statistics and quotes without human fact-checking.
- Using AI to alter, deepfake, or modify real photographs, video footage, or spoken audio of real people and live events.
- Publishing AI-generated stock images, synthetic videos, or AI text directly while presenting them as real-world media.
- Inputting confidential client material into public AI platforms.
We acknowledge the significant environmental impact of global AI data centers on water and electricity resources. We will continuously review our AI usage to ensure our content remains accurate, fair, objective, and environmentally responsible.
